The University of Pittsburgh department of Surgery is seeking a qualified Research Specialist. The Research Specialist in this position will be responsible for conducting experiments involving preclinical investigations of biologic scaffolds for regenerative medicine. Critical aspects of this position will include record keeping of study results, preparation of reports and manuscripts and analysis and interpretation of study results. Other duties will include procedural preparation, specimen processing and leading surgical procedures. A working background in benchtop research and surgical procedures is required. Must be self-motivated, highly organized and able to maintain complete and understandable records in a laboratory notebook. Must be willing to be part of an interdisciplinary, collaborative research team and be a major contributor in the technical aspects of research projects being carried out in the laboratory using independent judgement.

Bachelor's Degree in relevant field.
