Position Summary

The HR Policy & Compliance Leader is responsible for defining and implementing HR policies globally for Dentsply Sirona. This role will work closely with Legal and HR leaders (HR SMEs and regional HR business partners) globally to lead and participate in cross-functional teams on policy design, delivery, implementation and tracking.

Key Responsibilities


  • Draft/modify and implement company HR policies with a bias for global alignment and consistency yet local customization, wherever necessary

    • Close partnership with employment attorney(s) to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations on policies such as severance policy, leaves of absence (such as medical, parental, military), immigration sponsorship, and anti-harassment/discrimination
    • Align with HR subject matter experts to draft/evolve and implement policies within their areas of expertise, such as Total Rewards (f.eg., expat/relocation and benefits-related policies) and Talent (f.eg., candidate referral program, contingent workforce issues)
    • Partner with other functions or Pillars on policies that impact HR practices (f.eg., CTPAT).

  • Develop and oversee control systems to prevent or address violations of legal guidelines and internal policies
  • Evaluate the efficiency of controls and continuously improve them
  • Revise procedures, reports etc. periodically to identify non-conformity trends. Monitor trends/frequency of issues; identify compliance issues and propose solutions to mitigate risk (f.eg, training)
  • Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in HR compliance control
  • Prepare reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies, as appropriate (f.eg, I-9 compliance)
  • Collaborate with Legal and HR departments globally to monitor compliance with policies
  • Respond to government inquiries and audits, including those filed by the OFCCP and ICE
  • Advisor to escalated internal investigations of employee relations concerns or complaints of violations of legal guidelines and internal policies
  • Continuously assess compliance risks and identify and implement mitigation plans
  • Design and maintain a central repository of policies both global and country-specific in partnership with the country HR teams. Repository should maintain all current policies, and be easily accessible and searchable for end users.

Key Skills & Experiences


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related discipline
  • 5+ years' experience in HR compliance or regulatory role in a global organization; Additional HR or Legal (employment law, paralegal) experience preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations
  • Experience working in organizations with Unions or Works councils; Strong and proactive partnership with HR leaders that engage with Works councils
  • Experience working with state, federal, and international legal and regulatory agencies, including legislative review, analysis and reporting.
  • Experience with EEO, OFCCP, CTPAT and AAP reporting
  • Create and maintain sequencing of projects, prioritization, and cost benefit analyses balancing short-term and longer-term strategic goals
  • Manage the execution of initiatives from idea through launch, while setting and managing the right expectations with all relevant stakeholders
  • Understanding of global employee relations practices and procedures
  • Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping
  • A business acumen partnered with a dedication to legality
  • An analytical mind able to "see" the complexities of global procedures and regulations
