G&J Pepsi-Cola has a unique and exciting, paid User Experience Designer Internship located in Columbus, Ohio. The length of the internship is dependent upon class schedule but will tentatively start in June 2021 and end in August 2021. The intern will assist with various projects, activities and events within the Digital Technology and Business Transformation Teams. The intern will help develop, design, shape, and transform the user experience for current and future applications developed internally within the organizations DevOps team. The intern will have autonomy to research design trends, customer and persona needs and apply designs to be used as the standard UI/UX layouts and methods for current and future applications and visual reporting within the organization.

SUMMARY:

The User Experience Intern will support the DevOps team with creating and documenting the process to develop the full user journey, creation and modification of UI flows and wireframes. The designer will present and deliver an overall user experience and strategy rooted in research and encompassing style, color and interaction design. An ideal candidate has the desire to learn how to collaborate with development teams, product owners and projects in an agile SCRUM environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Create user experience flows, information architecture and wireframes
• Adhere and champion branding standards in designs
• Research design and technology trends
• Participate in design meetings and collaborate with the DevOps team
• Represent user experience in a project team and drive the voice of the customer
• Develop working digital products and experiences that our customers would use
• Present work to internal partners, supervisors and members of senior leadership
• Other duties as assigned by the Digital Technology and Business Transformation Team

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Willing to think outside of the box while championing the needs of the customer
• High degree of creativity and proven problem-solving ability
• Desire to expand and learn prototyping or user research skills
• Exposure to graphic, web and multimedia software and applications, such as Adobe Creative Suite.
• Understanding of Low-Code platform limitations and capabilities, such as Power Platform
• Understanding of responsive screen design
• Strong time management, communication, and interpersonal skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Working to obtain a degree from an accredited two- or four-year college in graphic design, human-computer interaction, or interaction design preferred.

• Earning a minimum 3.0 GPA or 2.8 GPA with active student leadership/community involvement.

• Willing to participate in a variety of projects and the ability to attend business meetings and community events, which will enrich the learning experience.
