The F5 NGINX Business Unit is searching for a Senior User Experience Designer to join us and drive the future vision for NGINX's user experience and core design system.  You will be responsible for driving the user experience efforts our products and working in partnership with our product and engineering teams to deliver elegant user interfaces and coherent solutions across our product suite.  

As a design leader in our team, you will demonstrate the value of including diverse voices to build a cohesive visual design vision and customer experience to life. You will leverage your user-centric mindset to provide design thought leadership for our enterprise solutions. As a hands-on designer and creative leader, you know how to combine innovation and systems thinking, creativity, and problem-solving with a strong sense of cross-functional teamwork to deliver world-class solutions. 

This position can be located remotely via Seattle, WA or San Francisco, CA.

Responsibilities:


  • Translate business requirements and user needs into user interface designs


  • Build task flow mockups and prototypes integrating feedback from product teams and end-users


  • Develop detailed interaction and visual design guidelines


  • Contribute in setting the long-term vision for our products and their user experience


  • Influence and educate the product teams in user-centered design principles and development processes


  • Use your fluency with user interface patterns for desktop, and mobile experiences to function as a subject matter expert to internal and external partners


  • Perform heuristic evaluations and usability studies


  • Collaborate with other UX designers when working on a common platform


  • Excellent interpersonal skills and great attitude, enjoy engaging with multiple people and groups to understand and pursue challenges, guiding discussion about design direction and rationale


  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to be self-directed when needed


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Proven design expertise in User Experience Design


  • Demonstrated ability to direct/manage designers and lead teams


  • Demonstrated proficiency in design tools and prototyping, including Figma


  • Support and mentor team members and be the role model for our design collective


  • Experience working in an Agile development environment preferred


  • Background in human-centered design or related field


  • 5-7+ years of experience within the field of design


  • Portfolio of shipped work that speaks for itself and wows
