The Guard I position will provide security escort to personnel & property within a Secure federal facility. Duties require minimal training. This position requires flexibility, frequent and prolonged travel.

An Active Secret Clearance is required

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Carry out instructions primarily oriented toward ensuring that emergencies and security violations are readily discovered and reported to the appropriate authorities
  • Intervein directly only in situations which require minimal action to safeguard property or persons
  • Provide clear direction, information and assistance to client visitors, guests, vendors, and employees in a professional, pleasant, and courteous fashion
  • Access control and monitoring of construction sites. Reporting issues to management
  • Visual inspecting all visitor, vendors, and employee access badges to verify that the authorized holder is the individual presenting the badge to prevent unauthorized access to the property
  • Maintain surveillance and reporting of any suspicious persons, vehicles and/or packages
  • Assist site personnel in providing proper instructions and directions during emergencies
  • Patrol the construction site on a regular basis
  • Maintain an active presence at the access gates to transport non-cleared personnel
  • Perform other job-related duties as required

Supervisory/Management Authority:

  • This position will not have supervisory or management authority

Education and/or Experience:

  • A High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required
  • One (1) to (3) three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is strongly desired

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have strong attention to detail and be able to communicate clearly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills; both oral and written
  • Ability to stand and walk one-third to two-third of the time as well as the ability to talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel; close vision; color vision; depth perception and ability to correct and adjust focus
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Security clearance
  • Ability to successfully pass a federal background check and drug screen is required

Work Environment:

  • Moderate to Loud sound (e.g., construction sites, warehouses, people traffic), extensive outdoor weather conditions and all routine job tasks inherent in position
