What you'll do on a typical day:


  • Leads all aspects of the sales process, while calling upon other company sales resources to assist in solution development, proposal delivery, and implementation, as needed or as directed by management.

  • Reaches or exceeds assigned sales goals.

  • Implements direct prospecting sales strategies.

  • Sells the products or services Nationally

  • Mines existing and prospective clients for portfolio business.

  • Establishes and maintains good customer relations, with both internal and external customers

  • Connects client business needs with products and services.

  • Maintains accuracy and timeliness of database, with respect to client accounts, contacts, prospective leads and progress status of opportunities.

  • Provides progress to goals to leadership.

  • Monitors market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales.

  • Communicate with senior executives to develop and implement selected courses of action

  • Diversify and grow the revenue base and ensure viable options are in place for the long term


What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience

  • 7 years of business development or sales experience

  • Experience developing and maintaining executive-level sales relationships

  • Availability to travel up to 50% of the time


It'd be great if you also have:

  • MBA or similar advanced degree

  • Ability to manage a sales pipeline of prospects and multiple business development proposals

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present clean, organized and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience

  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively.

  • Success in selling transportation services to manufacturers in the industrial, automotive, technology, chemical and consumer packaged goods industries in the U.S.

  • Strong time and project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workloads
