Job Description:

We are seeking Student Help in Clinical Labs to:


  • Support the Lab by making reagents, stocking supplies, aliquoting reagents, filing and xeroxing while using proper laboratory techniques.

  • Provide assistance to the team by compiling data for quality monitors and entering data into spreadsheets.

  • Interact, communicate and assist with Clinical Lab staff as needed.

Education:
Minimum – High School Diploma or equivalent; enrollment in post-secondary educational degree program.

Work Experience:
Minimum - Experience in an office environment
Preferred - Experience with lab equipment

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:


  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to organize work

  • Efficiency and time management skills

  • Competence in problem resolution

  • Ability to work independently and as a team member

  • Knowledge of and ability to use Windows based applications

Physical Requirements:
Light: Ability to lift up to 20 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. 

Work Schedule:
This is a 30% FTE position, scheduled 12 hours per week, Monday – Friday, between the hours of 8:30 am and 5:00 pm.  There are currently no weekends.  Hours may vary depending on the needs of the department.
