The Registered Dietitian is responsible for the design, coordination, and implementation of optimal nutritional care and education of patients in accordance with established standards of care.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy integrated with the patient's medical goals.
Evaluates, interprets, monitors and documents the nutritional status and nutritional needs of inpatients, residential residents, partial hospitalization patients and outpatients using established standards of care and practice guidelines.
Identifies and provides age-specific nutrition counseling to meet the cultural and spiritual needs of the patients and their families. Inspects meals served for conformance to prescribed diets and for standards of palatability and appearance.
Develops, reviews, updates and implements educational materials and nutrition classes to meet the needs of patients and professionals.
Functions as an integral member of the clinical interdisciplinary team.
Position Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics, or Nutritional Sciences
Licensed as a Registered Dietitian by the State of Ohio
Certified as a Registered Dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
Minimum of 2 years experience in general clinical dietetics practice preferred.
Prior experience working with Eating Disorder Patients is preferred
.In depth knowledge of normal and therapeutic nutrition is required.
Ability to assess nutritional status and develop comprehensive care plans for all levels of nutritional risk patients is required;
