Prudential's Individual Solutions Group is seeking an individual to help build, develop, and grow the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) distribution channel. The RIA Regional Director (External Wholesaler) will be responsible for front-line sales, educating firms and sales professionals on the RIA products, delivering group presentations, and will serve as the face of Prudential in the placement of our RIA products within the RIA marketplace. This role will play a critical role in marketing the customized annuity products and how they can be conveyed and explained to the clients of the Registered Investment Advisor. In addition, this role will require a keen ability to build strong relationships, understand the capital markets landscape and be able to discuss the various products we offer to the Registered Investment Advisor, their office, and their investment committee. To successfully perform in this role, preferred applicants should possess a solid knowledge of investments, financial planning and have prior experience in a front-line sales role.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Building and maintaining deep and broad relationships with the RIAs in the territory, for whom they will serve as the point for Prudential. This will require deep partner contributions such as speaking at conferences.


  • As part of the required client accountability, individuals in this role must come to know all the sales management and key individuals (sales professionals) within their assigned firms and build extremely strong relationships with them. Clients will be regionally assigned and individuals in this role will be expected to travel to meet with clients in person a significant amount of the time. In addition, individuals will need to participate in client operating meetings and work in close connection with firm back office functions.


  • Individuals in this role will host regular presentations on our products as well as serving as the subject matter expert on all product related matters. In keeping with this responsibility, individuals will educate and assist sales professionals.


  • In keeping with our Advisory strategy, incumbents will be accountable for delivering on goals that will be assigned by firm.


  • This role will work closely with internal sales team on prospecting efforts and setting agendas for upcoming client visits to ensure sales momentum continues and goals are achieved (for which they will be accountable).


Qualifications:


  • RIA Expertise and knowledge of how they work, strongly preferred


  • Experience in a front-line facing sales position


  • Understanding of various financial planning software


  • Must possess a strong understanding of investments and overall annuity landscape


  • Possess a strong knowledge of capital markets and financial planning


  • Strong executive presence


  • Exceptional presentations skills


  • Strong consultative acumen


  • Prior wholesaling experience a plus


  • Travel required up to 75%


  • FINRA Series 6, 63 (or 7, 66) and State Insurance license required


  • CFP, CFA, RICP, ChFC, CIMA or similar designations preferred (or in pursuit of)


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
