Job Description:

The Crew Operations Agent assists with the planning and schedule coordination of flight crew. Maintains various operating records and publications. Lynden Air Cargo is a US part 121 all-cargo airline based in Anchorage, Alaska. Lynden Air Cargo conducts operations within Alaska as well as other locations around the world, utilizing its fleet of L382 Hercules aircraft. Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.  


  • Performs all assigned work in accordance with established policies and procedures as governed by Lynden Air Cargo's Employee Handbook and applicable CFR's.

  • Responsible for accuracy and completeness of flight crew records.

  • Updates crewmember information in FOS and crew spreadsheets, and communicates updates to crewmembers, Flight Operations and the affected bases.

  • Coordinates with the Manager of Crew Operations regarding the status of crew members and individual training and currency requirements.

  • Assists the Manager of Crew Operations in obtaining foreign visas, licenses and other documentation as required

  • Coordinates with the department and crew members regarding entry requirements for foreign travel.

  • Coordinates and assists with crew scheduling duties.

  • Maintains all flight crew records to ensure each crew member is in compliance with the continued qualification and currency requirements of the Federal Aviation Regulations.

  • Assists the Senior Crew Scheduler with obtaining crew travel and hotels. 

  • Responsible for the maintenance and currency of all required Flight Operations Department manuals, bulletins, and publications.

  • Verifies all manuals, publications, certificates, and fuel cards are current on each aircraft.

  • Distributes Ops manual revisions/updates in paper and electronic formats to each aircraft.

  • Ships time-sensitive documents to aircraft located away from base.

  • Communicates all travel, record and library function requirements to flight crew members.

  • Mails contents of Flight Operations mailboxes to non-Anchorage based crew members as needed.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma; or one to three months experience in flight operations or other related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  


LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:               
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and apply those concepts to work related situations.


REASONING ABILITY:           
Ability to use common sense and sound judgment to deal with problems that occur in a highly controlled and regulated environment.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: 
None required. 


OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:               
• Ability to meet a regular work schedule. 
• Ability and willingness to work overtime as required.
• Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work to meet schedules/deadlines.
• Regular attendance and timeliness are essential functions of this position. Daily physical presence is required.
• Ability to work alone or as part of a team with minimal supervision.  
• Ability to change focus and job duties in a fast moving, time restricted environment.
• Detail oriented, with legible handwriting.
• PC skills required:  Windows, Excel, Outlook, Flight Operations Software, keyboarding proficiency. Keyboard and ten key by touch
• Broad knowledge of aviation with emphasis on Federal Aviation Regulations


OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, nights or holidays, if required.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:                 
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:                 
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
