What you will do
Serves as technical lead within Power Electronics Department that is responsible to design, test, and maintain power electronics products and systems for Johnson Controls’ chiller applications.
Determines the best techniques, procedures and/or theories as they apply to the development of power electronics products and systems.
Creates compliance procedures for the development of electrical/electronic circuitry designs.
Defines and interprets design specifications; designs electrical/electronic circuitry to meet specified requirements; and analyzes product design requirements and recommends solutions.
Prepares and coordinates the release of documentation to support component design and manufacturing.
Participates in all aspects of preliminary design and systems architecture and conducts analysis of the cost impacts of proposed modifications, upgrades, and new implementations of application software.
Conducts feasibility studies and systems analysis for new applications or major modifications of existing systems.
Works with other engineers, designers, and technicians on specific work assignments.
Forecasts and schedules work activities and defines processes for repetitive tasks.
Acts as the technical lead for troubleshooting field and factory issues on the range of power electronics products and systems on Johnson Controls’ chillers.
Travels to visit customers, Johnson Controls’ factories, vendors, and/or professional conferences as business needs

What we look for
Required
Bachelor’s degree on Electrical Engineering with specialization on Power Electronics
Minimum 8 years of industry experience in the field of Power Electronics.
Excellent verbal and written skills.

Preferred
Advanced degree with focus in Power Electronics
Strong experience on power electronics controls
Strong experience on FPGA and DSP
Strong experience on advanced tools such as Matlab/Simulink, OPAL-RT, Saber
