Overview

Manages all Quality Assurance activities and functions in support of company objectives, goals, and strategy. Oversees and improves the AS9100/ISO 9001 quality systems and applies in accordance with company and contractual requirements. Reviews status of customer (internal & external) rejections and recommends appropriate corrective action. Acts as a liaison with customers, vendors and various company departments. Advises management of test trends, returns, vendor performance, audit results and corrective action needed. Responsible for the training, motivation and discipline of assigned employees.

Responsibilities


  • Develop, maintain and improve formal Quality Assurance System.

  • Assure contractual Quality requirements are met.

  • Assess new requirements imposed and advise proper personnel of impact.

  • Communications, both internal and external - interface as necessary to coordinate activities with other departments, subcontractors, and customers related to Quality items.

  • Work with Procurement to establish and maintain a firm supplier base.

  • Determination of product conformance insure only usable parts are shipped, and fitness-for-use decision process is properly followed.

  • Provide feedback, reject/accept information summary reports, cost reports, etc.

  • Coordination and verification that Corrective Actions have been established and implemented.

  • Delegation of responsibilities and follow-up.

  • Training, development of personnel to insure knowledge and skills required to complete tasks are available.

  • Leadership, demonstrate by action, engage in positive work.

  • Clarifying specific responsibilities for quality.

  • Implementing the quality system to carry out the plans and achieve objectives.

  • Monitoring and continually improving the level of customer satisfaction.

  • Monitoring and continually improving the defect and error rate of internal process and systems.

  • Providing quality related and job related education and training for employees.

  • Delegation of responsibilities and follow-up.

  • Training, development of personnel to insure knowledge and skills required to complete tasks are available.

  • Leadership, demonstrate by action, engage in positive work.

  • Communication and enforcement of company policies.

  • Responsibility to support personnel and provide guidance related to performance.

  • Serve as a consultant on request, based on need for expertise and Quality disciplines.

  • Work with Production to establish priorities to meet customer and company delivery schedules (and still maintain quality of hardware shipped).

  • Establishment of both short and long term goals, in conjunction with overall company objectives.



Qualifications


  • Degree in Engineering or related technical field, with two years experience in a Quality related function or equivalent (A.S. in Engineering with six years experience).

  • Must have a complete understanding of military quality requirements and general government contract regulations.

  • Job knowledge of the coordination and administration of quality assurance activities related to all programs.

  • Understanding of Government contracts and compliance.
