The University of Chicago's Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation Medicine is searching for a full-time faculty member at any rank. The appointee will have inpatient and outpatient responsibilities in the context of a career in academic medicine. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. We especially welcome applicants with an interest in joint replacement surgery and bone health who could build a practice rapidly, who are advocates for the role of improved bone health in improving outcomes after joint replacement surgery, and who can lead clinical research in this area. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) be Board certified or eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery, 4) have completed an ACGME-approved orthopaedic surgery residency or its equivalent, and 5) have completed an ACGME-approved fellowship or its equivalent in an area directly relevant to the specialization.
To be considered, those interested must apply through The University of Chicago's Academic Recruitment job board, which uses Interfolio to accept applications: http://apply.interfolio.com/81719. Applicants must upload: CV including bibliography, cover letter addressing clinical accomplishments and teaching experience, and contact information for three references. Review of applications ends when the position is filled.
