The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Global Portfolio Manager in ASD’s Robotics & Automation team, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:


  • Collaborating with robotics portfolio leaders globally to develop and execute global marketing programs to accelerate demand generation and growth.  This position is critical to establishing 3M leadership in a dynamic and fast-growing (15%+ CAGR) space.

  • Working with external partners (industry stakeholders, system integrators, trade associations, etc.) to develop and deliver value-added customer resources, services and events that significantly grow 3M sales and brand awareness.  Manage day-to-day activities to co-develop and co-launch new robotic solutions with a leading industry partner. 

  • Developing and executing marketing programs for key customer segments, comprising digital marketing, distribution, promotions and other communications

  • Piloting and launching innovative new 3M service offering targeting end-customers considering robotic implementations

  • Collaborating with the sales teams to align on and execute plans and programs

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)

  • Five (5) combined years experience in New Product Commercialization, Marketing, Sales, and/or Business in a private, public, government, or military environment

  • Experience leading cross functional teams

  • Experience in project management

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:


  • Possess expertise equivalent to that which would be obtained in a master’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Marketing, or Strategy

  • Previous experience marketing or selling 3M abrasive products

  • Experience with senior level presentations

  • Action-oriented, self-motivated individual with proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize to meet business needs

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret various data, drive to decisions

Travel: May include up to 20% travel

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
