Summary

We are seeking a full-time Production Supervisor at our Fremont, CA location. The Production Supervisor reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for supervising and training manufacturing personnel in a manner consistent with Company policies and procedures. Other responsibilities include planning and managing the day to day allocation of resources (equipment, people, materials, and systems) in order to efficiently, safely, and cost effectively achieve performance targets. Performance improvement strategies such as coaching, training, and developing employees are also expected. The production supervisor also Implements and ensures adherence to company policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will be safety conscious, energetic, and self-motivated.  Regular schedule is 5 PM to 5:30 AM.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for directing production and warehousing


• Develop plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees


• Ensuring that the plant production is cost effective


• Monitoring the production processes and adjusting schedules as needed.


• Making sure that products are produced on time and are of good quality


• Review product quality and modify production and inventory control program


• Working with other Supervisors & Managers to implement the company’s policies and goals


• Liaising among different departments, e.g. suppliers, managers


• Ensure complete compliance to prescribed QMS and 5S processes


• Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed


• Other duties as required

Requirements

To be considered for a Production Supervisor position, the following conditions must be met:

• Minimum 4 years supervisory experience


• Certificate from college or technical school, or an equivalent experience


• Organization and time management skills


• 
  

  Basic Computer knowledge

  
  


• Understand units of measurement and be able to perform general mathematical equations.


• Able to read and properly utilize a tape measure

Physical Requirements

The following physical activities may be required for the position:

• 
  

  Ability to lift up to 75lbs on a regular basis

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to grasp and squeeze small parts and large items like glass

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to stand on concrete for up to 12 hours per day

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to wear PPE including, but not limited to: protective sweater, hard hat, steel toe boots, safety glasses and ear plugs

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to work in varied temperatures consistent with same climate conditions of the region (Heat, humidity, etc.)

  
  

Preferences

• Glass manufacturing supervisory experience


• Bilingual in Spanish


• Working knowledge of the AS400


• Project management abilities and a solid understanding of workflow processes


• Demonstrated management and planning skill


• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, identify and address problems, meet deadlines, and stay within budget


• Strong interpersonal skills; a team player and independent worker


• Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
