The UPS Advanced Technology Group is driving quantitative insights about the UPS network of today and tomorrow. The Quantitative Analyst position targets graduates with versatile skillsets in emerging technology areas. Project areas include building dynamic simulation models, developing and testing solution approaches to combinatorially difficult problems, applying machine learning to large-scale logistics problems, and prototyping innovative data visualizations. Project work will be matched to skillsets, strengths, and interests.
Responsibilities and Duties
Develops analytical models and data visualizations to drive analytic insights
Interacts with cross-functional teams to model current operations processes and evaluate potential solutions
Presents data insights and recommendations to key stakeholders
Knowledge and Skills
Sufficient and effective knowledge in programming and algorithms
Ability to work collaboratively and independently
Ability to interact and communicate effectively across business units and to different levels of management
Bachelor's Degree (or internationally comparable degree) in Engineering, Statistics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
Master's Degree (or internationally comparable degree) in Engineering, Statistics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field - Preferred
1-3 years' work experience or equivalent research assistantship - Preferred
