A week in the life of the Senior Analyst Engineerincludes:


  • Participate in simulation development planning to include working with simulation developers and operational test teams to refine simulation requirements and analyze design alternatives, formulate concepts for the intended use of Joint Simulation Environment (JSE).

  • Provide JSE support to development in association with Virtual Test and TrainingCenter, Nellis AFB.

  • Maintain awareness of AFOTEC planned use of JSE, and ensure AFOTEC planned use is reflected in JSE operations schedule.

  • Attend Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMS), Integrated Product Team (IPT) working groups, design reviews, and discussions with the JSF Program office (JPO), Air Combat Command (ACC), COMOPTEVFOR, Integrated Test Force (ITF) United Kingdom Air Warfare Centre (AWC), and development contractor personnel

  • Assist in conceptual model validation planning of JSE to identify inherent capabilities and limitation of the JSE federation architecture and modeling approach.

  • Identify factors that will influence use of JSE by operational test teams (e.g., technical limitations, security considerations, cost and schedule).

  • As AFOTEC's on-site representative the candidate will ensure that the interests of operational testers are considered at each stage of JSE-Nellis development and that HQ AFOTEC is informed of all issues that could impact its intended use of JSE.

Job Requirements




  • Required clearance: Active Top Secret (SCI/SSBI)

  • Education BS in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics with an MS desired

  • Years of experience: 10 years modeling and simulation experience with experience in large scale federated and/or man-in-the-loop simulations.

  • 5 years software engineering or computer hardware design

  • Prior experience in military aviation or operational test a plus.

  • Firsthand experience with comparable applications (i.e., aircraft training simulators) may be considered in lieu of requirements for formal education or years of experience.

  • Certifications in information technology a plus

  • Certification in Defense Acquisition Management or Comparable program management accreditation a plus

  • Travel requirements: around 50% for first year

  • Must demonstrate problem solving capabilities in an interdisciplinary environment

  • Must possess good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Must possess organizational skills with demonstrated success in technical project management a plus.
