The Location

Michael Best Consulting is conveniently located two blocks north of the I-94 corridor in Waukesha, WI. Southeastern Wisconsin is the home of the Milwaukee Brewers, Milwaukee Bucks, Summerfest, and world class cultural attractions including the Milwaukee Art Center, museum and symphony orchestra. Our contemporary Waukesha office design is ideal for concentration and collaboration and supports a culture where we work together to make good things happen for our Clients. After successful growth in the professional practice of the candidate, reporting to other office locations may be considered, depending on client base and needs.

The Position

The Organizational and E-Learning Development Strategist is an amazing opportunity for a candidate to spread their wings in the world of advisory HR and Training Support. Michael Best's Venture Best team has earned a national reputation by providing funding and support for start-up organizations, some of which have become house-hold names. As these start-ups prosper, they require scalable HR support across multiple disciplines. Among the challenges is delivering top notch results in every aspect of HR, including Talent Acquisition and On-Boarding, systems design, compensation and benefits analysis, employment law, and training and development. But there is more.

The changes brought about by the recent pandemic have changed the way companies work. The Organizational Strategist must have familiarity and experience developing and delivering e-learning training. You will also work internally to develop content and oversee the delivery of e-learning content and the Learning Management Systems that house this content. This aspect of the role requires interaction with attorneys across multiple disciplines to align e-learning content with client training and compliance needs. This is a growth market, and you will hit the ground running with several hundred lawyers and several thousand clients looking for new ways to deliver HR and training services remotely.

What You'll Be Doing

• Partnering with our Venture Best attorneys to develop start-up clients and deliver world class HR solutions to the marketplace.


• Partnering with law firm practice groups and firm attorneys to identify and secure new consulting clients similar to Venture Best Clients and plan the development of e-learning content for HR and technical training requirements with same.


• Drive brand excellence and Client value by delivering concierge HR support services to our clients.


• Provide full cycle talent acquisition support for Clients including the definition and implementation of the hiring process, cultural assimilation and on-boarding. Assure Client compliance with applicable state and federal employment laws often working with experience lawyers.


• Develop internal Applicant Data Base to provide leverage for multiple Client recruitment support.


• Counsel Client on employment matters including termination risk management, compensation analysis and market pricing, and benefit plan design and cost analysis.


• Conduct individual, group, and organization-based training and development needs analyses and assessments. Delivers learning content on site or in an e-learning capacity.


• Based on assessed need, plans, develops, and delivers or coordinates the delivery of individual and/or group training and instructional programs, encompassing a wide range of technical, operational, management, and/or other skills areas.


• Manages the content development process, including content design with Subject Matter Expert (often attorneys) and supervision of internal or subcontract developers.


• Prepares and maintains catalog of current available training programs for Clients, updates and markets same.

Job Requirements:

Bring Your Best

• 5+ years of progressive human resources or related experience


• Certified PHR or SPHR desired


• Experience with e-learning and LCMS content design and development process

• Communications skills and confidence to interact with Clients at all levels of an organization. Business sales and closing experience is preferred.

• Ability to work effectively on independent and collaborative levels.


• Strong follow-through capability and a demonstrated history of accuracy in completed work.


• Strong computing skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, with advanced Excel skills and Captivate or similar content development software experience.


• A high level of integrity and professional discretion; and a proven ability to appropriately handle sensitive and confidential information and situations.


• Experience providing top notch HR support to start-up organizations is a plus
