Willett Engineering, a Gray company in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a full-time structural engineer with a variety of projects. We are an award-winning team with over 150 years combined engineering experience, and our projects include the design of retail, institutional, industrial, residential, medical, recreational and educational facilities, as well as historical renovations.

Responsibilities:

Deliver innovative, efficient, safe and practical structural engineering solutions on all projects and other activities appropriate to the stage and type of project.

Manage engineers and designers assigned to your projects to produce complete, coordinated and high-quality plans, specifications and other documents on time and within budget to meet agreed on deadlines and client expectations. Supervise and monitor all work by others on the team to maintain a high standard consistently.

Ensure reviews are conducted sufficiently in advance of all deadlines in order that any necessary amendments can comfortably be completed prior to completion of design.

Ensure health and safety are considered at all stages of the design process such that the designs produced minimize risk during construction while exceeding the client’s expectation.

Monitor and record changes in the scope of services and when additional services are required work with senior management to ensure that all such additional scope and fees are agreed upon with the client prior to the services being performed.

Maintain professional and friendly working relationships with clients, designers, team members and other collaborators to facilitate successful completion of projects.

Actively and continually update skills and technical knowledge to accelerate your personal development through internal work experience and independent learning outside the office.

Skills:

Mastery in the use of AutoCAD, Revit, Etabs, Risa 3D, STAAD, Bluebeam;

Proficient in designing with wood, steel, reinforced concrete and masonry construction methods;

Working knowledge of the various codes and regulatory requirements such as, but not limited to IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, ADA;

Working knowledge of Microsoft suite.
