Job Description


North Wind Infrastructure and Technology is currently seeking exceptional and driven junior to mid-level Civil-Water Engineers with 1 to 5 years' experience with a strong hydrology and hydraulic modeling background who desire to work within a strong team environment. While this posting is specifically for a nationwide FEMA Risk MAP program, North Wind works on a wide variety of challenging water infrastructure related projects including design and rehabilitation of dams, levees, pipelines, stormwater systems, coastal/stream restoration, and flood protection projects. The positions require recent experience in civil engineering and hydraulic and hydrologic analyses for flood mitigation or wet infrastructure projects.
Duties include:


  • Performing and/or reviewing hydraulic and hydrologic analyses / modeling to simulate various water systems to support civil designs for water infrastructure projects,

  • Providing support to various projects requiring design and analysis of flow control structures including outlets and spillways on embankment dams, stormwater conveyance, bridge replacement, pipelines, erosion control, and various other civil-water applications,

  • Providing support in the development of design requirements, alternatives analyses, equipment selection/sizing, drawings, etc.,

  • Using design software to plan, design and/or bid hydraulic systems and related civil structures for water projects,

  • Evaluating plans for design, feasibility, safety and adherence to government regulations and other related municipal and building codes,

  • Compile and submit permit applications to local, state, and federal agencies verifying that projects comply with various regulations, and

  • Assist on proposal efforts with specifications, technical approaches, and component sourcing/costs.

    Qualifications



    • Minimum four (4) year Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in civil or water resources engineering from an accredited engineering school.

    • 2-5 years of positional Civil water related or Hydrology & Hydraulic modeling experience.

    • PE or EIT and working towards a PE.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Strong verbal and writing communication skills.

    • Certified Floodplain Management (CFM) desired.

    • Ability/willingness to travel (up to 25%),

    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

    • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
