This position's primary responsibility will be as the owner of financial information related to the GBS organization. In the near term that will be a project role as the business case leader for the GBS transformation program.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities


  • Own the financial model for the GBS program, which includes projections of all financial benefits to Zimmer Biomet related to a shift towards the GBS operating model, the ongoing costs to operate the structure, as well as the one times costs to achieve

  • Partner closely with the GBS controller to ensure that all financial projections are coordinated with and embedded in the overall Zimmer Biomet financials and budgets

  • Collaborate across functions, regional execution teams, and HR to capture GBS related scope, staffing and transition assumptions; Review and socialize update business case details with functional leadership

  • Prepare updates and financial report outs to the GBS Steering Committee (currently on a monthly basis); coordinate and support stakeholder socialization needed before / after meetings

  • Take ownership of the overall program budget and cost management through setup and execution of formal cost management meetings (currently held twice monthly), as well as through partnering with stakeholders across the program (e.g. various functional leaders, global, and regional project managers, HR, etc.) to gather inputs and changes as they arise.

  • Support Office of GBS, GBS VP, and regional PMOs by conducting ad-hoc "what if" scenario analysis, especially related to potential program changes (e.g. scope increases, scope decreases, timing shifts, etc.), enabling decisions on path forward.

  • Continuously communicate with all program stakeholders of business case / FTE targets to ensure understanding, so teams can manage appropriately; highlight risks as they arise

  • Maintain centralized control and ownership of all program data, including financial and FTE / Headcount impact and timing, to be the "single source of truth" for the headcount, financial, and timing data; liaising with multiple stakeholders across the program, finance, and HR

  • Track and drive tangential financial offsets in other parts of the organization that are needed to ensure that GBS does not add incremental costs to the business (e.g. facility closures / rent reduction, IT spend reduction, HR / IT / other labor infrastructure offsets through current headcount rationalization)

  • To the extent possible, coordinate with leaders of other transformation programs at Zimmer Biomet to ensure that program-related savings are not being double counted with other programs

Expected Areas of Competence


  • Proficient in analytical and financial modelling; deep understanding of NPV / project finance analyses

  • Working knowledge of primary business drivers, benefits, costs, and approaches for standing up GBS organizations

  • High attention to detail in both Excel / financial analysis but also in presentations (primarily PPT) & communication; including logical structuring of written communications

  • Ability to translate complex financial information into clear executive level presentations

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and influencing skills when working with internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to carrying out multiple tasks at the same time

  • Ability to work accurately and under pressure

  • Ability to work with little supervision Proficient in English

Education/Experience Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in finance, or related analytical field

  • 5 years' minimum experience in a financial analysis role

  • Preferred experience in a project or GBS environment, and in the life science / Medtech sector
