Foodservice Marketing Manager The Foodservice Marketing Manager will support branded business and the strategic development of the go-to-market plan.
What will I do as a Foodservice Marketing Manager?
The Marketing Manager is responsible for supporting and leading the strategic development and execution of the brand's marketing plan. This role is responsible for the development of the brand and communication strategy. This position conducts the business analysis needed to drive sound decisions and build sound marketing strategies, manages the product portfolio and leads the development of new product initiatives to ensure Clemens Food Group
What are the responsibilities of the Foodservice Marketing Manager?
The Foodservice Marketing Manager possesses and executes upon the following key skill sets:
Strategic Planning & Innovation
Develop annual brand go to marketing plans and associated budgets (Focus on distributors, operators, product)
Review marketing tactics based on brand and customer strategies
Identify, synthesize and activate on consumer/customer insights
Conduct customer visits to gain understanding of what is occurring in the market place
Evaluate current results vs. competition in the category
Support development of new initiatives including: identification of unmet consumer needs, trends, new product concepts, packaging, graphics, business case/P&L, marketing plans, communication/advertising
Collaborate with Sales Directors on establishing fiscal year volume targets & budgets
Work with Product Portfolio Manager(s) for Foodservice Branded and Fresh products to drive and deliver against Renovation and Innovation targets
Manage analysis and actions for SKU portfolio productivity
Manage agency relationships and lead the preparation for internal and external brand presentations
Sales Execution
Lead strategic planning process to achieve growth objectives and meet brand positioning targets
Collaborate and support Sales team with customer opportunities
Lead customer specific marketing program consisting of elements, timing and investment
Prepare presentations in support of customers and channel opportunities
Lead marketing solutions for key strategic customers
Lead customer specific marketing program consisting of elements, timing and execution of plan
Participate in strategic Foodservice customer appointments
Review and adapt selling stories of CFG current offerings as needed
Advice Foodservice sales on benchmarks for new item volume
Attend and participate in bi-weekly Foodservice sales meetings & leadership meetings
Lead cross functional team to execute identified marketing plan
Sponsorship Management
Develop, communicate and align sponsorship programs with stakeholders
Establish clear marketing tactics based on brand and customer strategies
Establish annual budget for marketing investment
Establish annual calendar of events and activation
Lead cross functional team to execute identified activation tactics
Manage analysis on sponsorship performance and lead sponsorship negotiation process
Performance Management
Effectively manage the functional marketing budget
Monitor, manage, and report on results to plan
Manage ad agency expectations on projects
Measure program effectiveness and communicate results - Optimize for future activities
Identify ways to understand product performance against our competitors in the market place; understand our sales relative to the industry
Identify process improvement opportunities in sphere of influence
Team CFG
Train new hires in touch point functions as part of onboarding process
Operate as subject matter expert for brand communications
Attend and participate in corporate social responsibility initiatives
Attend and participate in weekly channel management meetings
Lead weekly Foodservice priority meetings with direct report
Coach direct report -meet with direct report to review progress and longer term personal growth development
Identify and establish a plan/approach for successor
Build network to develop pipeline of future talent for CFG
Be brand and marketing advocate/ambassador - Develop, communicate and review marketing plan approach and results with stakeholders
Qualifications
Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field and at least 10 years of Brand and business leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Comprehensive experience in consumer packaged goods industry.
Must be able to identify consumer insights and translate them into go to market plans.
Creative and passionate about ideation and new product development.
Change agent with flexible work style & willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever it takes to help your team win
Proven track record of working effectively as a business leader and with cross-functional teams
Excellent communication skills; strong oral and written language skills. Able to communicate at both a technical and non-technical level.
Excellent planning and organizational skills with demonstrated multi-tasking and project management skills.
May be required to travel and must be able to represent the company at conferences and product presentations.
Ability to build strong business relationships to achieve sustainable partnerships and collaborate internally and externally.
Demonstrated project management skills with proven ability to lead multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
Exceptional story telling & presentation skills, both oral and written
Strong strategic thinking & analytical skills ; ability to dive team into consumer & competitive landscape & develop sustainable business cases
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including, but not limited to Excel& PowerPoint
