Job Description:

This engineer will support the reliability, availability, and serviceability of Ricoh's production inkjet printing systems. We are looking for individuals with a passion for working with information, machines, and people. A successful candidate will help to improve and transform our process of creating and conveying technical information.

The job requires hands-on troubleshooting skills and the ability to work and communicate effectively with members of a cross-functional engineering development and support organization, including international team members. The team is focused on maintaining information accuracy of past, present, and future products.

The position contains a unique mix of technical writing, illustration, engineering, and service / customer field tech. support. The job responsibilities are focused on creating service documentation and related information with integrated artwork. This work has a direct customer impact on the quality of our products and service. The work includes creating installation instructions, troubleshooting procedures, parts catalogs, preventative maintenance, and theory of operation documents.

Required Engineering Skills & Experience:

  • Technical Writing, Illustration, and Publishing
  • Process Improvement / Automation / Digital Transformation
  • Electromechanical system development and troubleshooting
  • Creative Problem Solving
  • Product Life Cycle Management
  • Arbortext (PTC) or other technical publishing software experience
  • Proficient with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently, in a customer-oriented and fast-paced culture with minimal supervision.
  • Outstanding teamwork skills, including the ability to be an effective technical consultant.
  • Detail-oriented and able to effectively prioritize, organize, and multi-task.
  • Ability to redirect efforts and rapidly change focus in response to dynamic business needs.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work schedule to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills (written reports, e-mail correspondence, presentations, and teleconferences).
  • Excellent writing skills for procedures and instructions, and ability to use illustrations / images in lieu of and/or complimentary to written instructions.
  • Enterprise process system experience through concept, development, test, installation, and life cycle management phases
  • Creative and adaptive mindset toward process and quality improvement
  • Teamwork with international members, business partners, and customers

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • File and database management
  • Engineering change management
  • Inkjet printer / digital imaging experience
  • Html / xml / web publishing
  • Quality control methods such as Lean / Six Sigma
  • Experience with service planning and life cycle management
  • Working with different cultures and countries

Compensation Range $70,000 - $100,000

Position is bonus eligible, 6% STI
