The Project Associate Manager is responsible for managing aspects of technical projects assigned within the respective business unit. This role will utilize strong technical expertise to help the Division achieve goals of executing projects on time, on budget and within scope. In performing these responsibilities, this position will work closely with business leaders and functional project leaders to assess and track the various activities and resources required in day to day project management.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead New Product Development Teams, setting team direction, motivating team members, assigning tasks and coordinating activities across different organizational functions

  • Communicating with suppliers and alliance partners to coordinate project related activities

  • Defining project scope and developing the project plan and schedule including resource plansProtect the plan by identifying and mitigating risks to the timeline

  • Accountable for delivering project deliverables including a high quality finished product that meets customer needs and is compliant with regulations and quality system requirements

  • Reporting project status, risks and suggested mitigation to work groups and various levels of management

  • Continuous improvement of work processes to support achievement of company objectives

Expected Areas of Competence

  • Broad knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.

  • Possess excellent skills in communications (both oral and written)

  • Maintaining strong working relationships with business and other project leaders.

  • Strong problem-solving skills; able to take action in making decisions

  • Presentation skills. Able to clearly present information through the spoken work; influence or persuade others through oral presentations in positive and negative circumstances, listens well.

  • Must be able to emit a level of confidence and expertise to effectively train other employees

  • Must possess a collaborative style to work effectively throughout the organization.

  • Able to work with people in such a manner as to build high morale and group commitment to goals and objectives.

  • Should be proficient in MS Project other Office Applications and other project management software applications.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline or related science discipline is required (mechanical, biomedical, materials science engineering highly preferred)

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience is required

  • Experience working in a regulated environment is required

  • A Masters degree is highly preferred

  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification is highly preferred

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 10%
