JOB TITLE: TRUCK INSTALLATION TECHNICIAN

COMPANY: THE READING TRUCK GROUP

LOCATION: Nashville, TN

Position Summary:

Truck Technicians work under the direction of the Shop Supervisor to complete the installation of specialty truck equipment such as dump bodies, crane bodies, bumper cranes, etc.

We are a leading manufacturer, distributor and fleet sales expert of premium truck bodies with commercial upfit for vocational markets nationwide. We strive for a pioneering attitude and a focused commitment to innovation in all we do.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all Safety procedures, processes, and PPE usage.


  • Maintain 5S of work area.


  • Maintain Quality of work as specific in quality specifications


  • Install truck bodies, body cranes, bumper crane, plows. etc.


  • Mount hitches, shelves, drawers


  • Install ladder racks, mud flaps


  • Install back-up cameras


  • Train mechanics as needed


  • Other duties assigned by Supervisor/Manager


  • Attaches hardware, like drawer pulls, locks, latches, or metal ornaments, to finished product, using hand tools power screwdriver


  • Perform other assignments as required

    Position Qualifications & Requirements:


    Education:



  • High School diploma or GED preferred


  • Willing to work overtime and varied shift assignments as required


  • Prior experience preferred.

    Experience:



  • Manufacturing industry background experience preferred


  • Prior auto mechanic experience helpful

    Skills and Abilities:



  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings, follow paint specifications as stated on work order.


  • Basic math skills


  • Mix paint consistently in accordance with paint specifications

    Physical Demand:



  • Frequent lifting up 35 to 50 lbs.


  • Frequent standing and walking on concrete floor


  • Frequent firm hand grasping


  • Standing, stooping, bending


  • Above should work while holding various small hand tools


  • Ability to visually see, read, and comprehend data supplied on work orders

    Supervisory responsibilities: None


    Work environment:



  • Manufacturing. fast paced environment


  • Seasonal ambient temperature


  • Must be able to wear required Personal Protective equipment (PPE)

    Travel: None
