About the Role


As a Financial Planner II you will perform a broad range of financial planning duties. You'll partner with internal partners and financial planning clients to make dreams come true.

You will serve as the lead planner on appropriate level cases or as the plan builder where a more experienced planner is taking the lead. You will work independently, with guidance as needed from more experienced planners.

How You'll Spend Your Time



  • You will work closely with the client relationship manager, prepare for client meetings by gathering client data, entering data into various software programs, building financial plans, analyzing the client's financial situation, and creating recommendations and identifying opportunities

  • You'll build relationships with internal partners by clearly communicating financial planning offering and helping identify opportunities to introduce financial planning to clients.

  • You will take a leadership role in training and mentoring junior planners with an emphasis in all technical aspects of financial planning, including plan building and scenario modeling, as well as following team systems and processes.

  • You will perform financial planning research and assist in other tasks and projects as needed to support the financial planning team.

  • You'll help develop and maintain internal systems and processes, including CRM.

  • You will demonstrate accountability for tracking all aspects of the financial planning process, including identifying new business closed with the assistance of financial planning.

  • You will help grow existing client and prospective client relationships by identifying opportunities for additional products and services.

FINANCIAL ANALYSIS: You will need to be good with numbers to perform complicated mathematical calculations and to learn complex technical information.

COMMUNICATION: You must enjoy building relationships inside and outside the bank. One missed step, and the loan may not close on time. You will talk with and interact with a large number of people inside and outside the bank.

PROBLEM SOLVER: Because every day is different, you must be a problem solver and self-starter. There are so many pieces of the puzzle to keep track of. The complexity of problems to solve will increase as your experience does.

RELATIONSHIP BUILDER: Your love for customer service and cross-selling with an ability to network and build relationships will take you far. You're constantly taking a deeper dive, researching, dissecting, investigating, and asking the right questions to offer the right products and services. The ability to write and speak well is critical. Excellent business acumen and professionalism are what it takes.

Education & Experience Requirements


This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree and 2-5 years' experience in a financial planning role along with completion of CFP required coursework.

Preferred: Completion, or progress toward completion of CFP.
