Werner Enterprises is looking to hire an Information Security Architect to deliver the appropriate enterprise-level information security architectures supporting the vision for defining innovative solutions, leveraging new technologies and designing and architecting solutions meeting business goals.

What you will be doing as an Information Security Architect at Werner Enterprises:
Provide leadership for specifying, designing, implementing, testing, accrediting, deploying, and sustaining the appropriate information security architectures in a distributed, cloud-centric environment.
Leverage Werner policies, architectural frameworks, and commercial best practices to design and develop information security architectures, policies and technologies that balance risk with business value.
Work with others with other architects (network, data, application, etc.) in decomposing a secure enterprise architecture into the appropriate components and services for analysis, design, implementation, testing, accreditation, deployment, and sustainment.
Responsible for working with senior leadership around the overall information security vision, roadmap, and implementation strategy.
Presents alternative solutions to customer and senior leadership in solving a specific business problem or enabling customer value.
Identification and Documentation of as-is and to-be architectures.
Support the development of new standards, stated directions, and guidelines.
Maintain deep technical and business knowledge of relevant technology stacks, security, cloud computing, industry direction, and trends.
Serves as a top-level technology focused information security expert for the enterprise.
Performs highly specialized technical tasks associated with cutting-edge technologies.
Assists with assessments and provides recommendations on new technologies and techniques.
Applies expert functional knowledge and experience to significant business projects or processes.
Assists in the diagnosis of people and system failures and aids in recovery.
Assist management in the handling of administrative matters by conferring with and advising co-workers regarding administrative policies and procedures.
Develop, coordinate, and implementation of procedures to improve productivity.
Keeps abreast of company goals, methods, and procedures and of current developments in technology and available vendor-supplied products.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS ESSENTIAL TO THE POSITION:
Strong knowledge and extensive experience with information security best practices and goals
Knowledge of best practices and experience with IT operations in an always-up, always-available service.
Provides thought leadership and direction to peers and teams in the organization as they review what work to prioritize in order to create new workflow and re-engineer existing capabilities to be delivered.
Provides support to ensure problems are resolved in an expedient manner.
Work with management and practitioners, IT staff, partners and vendors to ensure maximum utilization of all IT resources.
Keeps management fully informed of all activities and problems within area of responsibility.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Must possess an extensive knowledge (5+ years) of information security.
Successfully operated in complex IT environments where use of modern, public cloud-based technologies (including PaaS/SaaS architectures) were common.
