What will I be doing?
The Digital Software Engineering organization is hiring a Senior Director of Software Engineering to lead $12B+ web booking channels. This is a key leadership role that is responsible for Technology oversight and setting the day-to-day direction of globally dispersed architecture, engineering, and quality teams. The Sr Director of Software Engineering plays a hands-on role in overseeing the build, quality assurance, release engineering, and deployment of outstanding digital technologies, tooling, and frameworks. Leads the team accountable for the development and delivery of innovative and high-quality customer-facing web and mobile applications to drive the growth and guest satisfaction of Hilton's Digital channels.
Responsibilities to include:
Own and lead all digital engineering & architecture teams, initiatives, and strategies for web
Lead technology teams in defining, crafting, and supporting enterprise-scale public websites with a solid grasp of industry-standard web technologies
Management of multi-functional, sourced, and matrixed teams - Onshore and Offshore
Contribute to an elite continuous delivery and continuous integration practice by helping redefine the processes that foster our development, quality, and deployment pipelines
Management of IT contingent labor staffing and contractor strategies, including outsourcing activities in a managed services environment
Proven knowledge of SDLC; good understanding of ITIL v3 Framework
Strong process management, negotiating, influencing, and problem resolution skills. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Develop and lead Application Development Standards, Processes, And Tools. Handle day-to-day relationships with IT Teams

Solid technical and communications skills, excellent time management, and prioritization capabilities, and an aptitude for critical thinking
Previous experience with agile software development techniques, developer-driven testing, and highly automated test environments, specifically with large-scale initiatives and globally located teams
Demonstrated success leading medium- to large-scale initiatives/transformations. Shown executive experience in strategy, planning, and budgeting within one or more business groups
Experience with Atlassian stack and relevant agile tooling
Extensive understanding of systems, security, protocols, and networking in modern heterogeneous and hybrid cloud environments
Experience handling critical production systems with strict SLAs around service availability and product delivery
Ability to simultaneously balance multiple products in production, pre-prod, quality, performance, and development environments with varying technologies and lifecycles
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, iterative development environment
To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:
Fourteen (14) years of professional experience in Technology or related field
Ten (10) years leading large scalable software environments
Four (4) years of management experience directly supervising people or teams
Travel up to 20% as needed
It would be helpful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
Bachelor's Degree, or Associate's Degree plus six (6+) years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus twelve (12+) years of Technology related experience
Sixteen (16+) years of professional experience in Technology or related field
Ten (10) years of management experience directly supervising people or teams
Ten (10) years of hospitality industry experience, with a mix of experience from technology roles
Track record of converting delivery organizations from rigid processes to agile processes, supported by continuous delivery pipelines
