The Role

Are you looking to start your career with a global Medical Gas Equipment Provider? BeaconMedaes, part of the Atlas Copco Group, is seeking a qualifiedBuyer to join our team.You will be responsible for the Medical business and will support ourCustomer Center to achieve itsdivisional goals. The Buyer creates value for the organization byselecting, developing and evaluating vendors/suppliers based on price, quality, logistics, capacity and performance; negotiating prices and terms with suppliers; and actively looking for ways to reduce costs while securing the best parts and services for our customers.

Principle roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Strategic purchasing of assigned commodities and coordinate with supply chain or quality primarily of these commodities, including supplier performance evaluation, value analysis, and serving as a primary liaison between internal and external stakeholders

• Analyze BeaconMedaes product specifications and inventory needs in order to develop supply strategies for materials and achieve optimal costs, quality standards, and efficiency, logistics, and delivery schedules
  
  


• Procure parts and components for service needs in accordance with the BeaconMedaes forecast, service plan and growth strategies, or related to the new product development projects
  
  


• Develop suppliers to meet BeaconMedaes standards inclusive of evolving requirements like safety, environment and the Atlas Copco Business Code of Practice and purchasing terms

• Develop strong network of vendors who can deliver zero defect parts and components at competitive prices and ensure that such parts and components comply with BeaconMedaes product engineering and product specifications

• Support Medical Gas Solution division in negotiation of laboratory equipment contracts with designated suppliers

• Support BeaconMedaes technical sales supervisor with sourcing and purchasing agreements for aftermarket development

• Evaluate existing and potential suppliers using Atlas Copco procedures and standards to determine the supplier's financial stability, technical capabilities, quality, logistics performance, and cost structure

• Specifically work on project that will improve packaging, branding and identification of BeaconMedaes products to make them fit for distribution

• Actively work with suppliers to recover warranty reimbursements

• Achieve targets in the area of yearly reduction of total cost

• Consult with existing and possible new suppliers to offer suggestions on improvements regarding total cost to the internal stakeholder

• Negotiate prices and terms with vendors and when appropriate sign a supply agreement to cover mutual interests

What we expect of you?

Experience

• Demonstrated expertise in the areas of procurement systems and supply chain processes


• Demonstrated ability to negotiate prices and terms


• Ability to read blueprints is a plus


• 2 years of progressively responsible purchasing and materials control experience in a manufacturing environment
  
  

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or Business or equivalent combination of education/ experience
  
  

Skills

• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 / 14001 and quality standards is a plus


• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint


• Experience working with mainframe systems such as BPCS / SAP


• High-energy performer who is willing to put in the extra effort needed to meet the demands of the job


• Team player who works with others to resolve problems quickly


• Well-organized and self-motivated


• Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
