The GeoBase analyst will be part of a fast-paced team environment developing and executing geospatial solutions for Air Force GeoBase program operations. GeoBase analyst is expected to input/update base maps in coordination with HQ level GeoBase leadership.


Woolpert is anticipating a June 1st start date for hiring in 2021. The following bases are hiring:



  • Peterson AFB, Colorado

  • Offutt AFB, Omaha, Nebraska

  • Seymour Johnson AFB, North Carolina

  • Minot AFB, North Dakota

  • Malmstrom AFB, Montana


  • Dyess AFB, Abilene, Texas


Qualifications:



  • U.S (UnitedStates) citizenship

  • Secret (or higher) security clearance preferred, will consider previous or inactive, must have ability to obtain clearance

  • BA/BS and four (4) years related geospatial experience, or six (6) years related geospatial experience, such as:

    • Experience with Python for ArcGIS

    • Extensive experience with ArcGIS Suite - ArcGIS for Desktop, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online

    • DoD Geospatial IT systems

    • Proficiency with server-side software to include Internet Information Server (IIS), ArcSDE, ArcGIS Server



  • Willingness to undergo a preemployment verification and drug screening

  • Experience listed below is highly desired

    • CAD tools and relational databases

    • Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE) GIS data standard

    • Proficiency with server-side software to include Internet Information Server (IIS), ArcSDE, ArcGIS Server




Responsibilities:



  • Performs geospatial technical tasks with end users at Air Force installations in the GeoBase work field to identify GIS requirements, technical issues and training needs

  • Provides technical expertise and leadership in the project definition and planning phases and assists leadership in the development and implementation of geospatial QA/QC standards ensuring compliance with Air Force and Department of Defense geospatial data standards

  • Defines optimal workflow processes for their respective areas of expertise and designs, implements, and tests configuration changes in packaged software such as ESRI and Oracle to meet end user business requirements.

  • Applies or develops advanced theories, concepts, principles and processes in execution of quality deliverables that meet project/deliverable specifications.

  • Communicates new scientific methods, developments and practices through appropriate firm channels.

  • Monitors geospatial processes within their department and ensures all required steps are performed correctly and accurately.
