Temple University's College of Public Health (CPH) has been awarded a grant from the City of Philadelphia to administer COVID-19 vaccines in North Philadelphia communities. CPH is looking for Registered Nurses to help participate in these COVID-19 vaccination clinics. This is a grant funded, 24 hours per week, 3 days per week position. The position will last no longer than 6 months.

Responsibilities of the RN's include, but are not limited to:

• Administer COVID vaccinations to the general public as part of an interdisciplinary team.


• Assist with setup and break-down of wellness/immunization clinics.


• Transport vaccine(s) and sharps.


• Assist with completion of immunization consent forms.


• Proficient in intramuscular injection technique and subcutaneous injection technique.


• Administer vaccines (per manufacturer instructions), and educate clients and caregivers about age specific immunizations, precautions/contraindications, and possible adverse reactions.


• Transport of vaccine(s) and maintaining the cold chain.


• Proper biohazardous waste transport and disposal.


• Maintains appropriate infection control standards and precautions.


• Maintains compliance with wellness specific policies and procedures.


• Emergency management i.e., adverse reactions, anaphylaxis. Administration of epinephrine per physician standing order.


• Reporting of incidents and/or injuries/needle stick.


• Proper biohazardous waste process/protocols.


• Proper utilization of PPE.

Required Skills & Abilities

• May be required to work on the weekend or occasional evening.

Required Education & Experience

• Must be a registered nurse in the state of PA.


• Must have an active CPR certification.

This is a grant funded position and requires a background check.
