Job Description:

The Andersons has successfully incorporated physical handling assets into dynamic merchandising programs. Our relationships with originations customers are very strong and every day, The Andersons puts our merchandising expertise to work for our customers - physically purchasing, transporting and delivering tens of thousands of bushels of grain.

We are hiring a Accounting/Date Entry Clerk to support our high volume Eastern Corn Commodities trading team. This is a high attention to detail, high volume processing position. Candidates must be able to operate in a fast paced environment with a high attention to detail and critical thinking required.

Position Overview

This position is responsible for providing primary support to the assigned location in execution of contracts, rates and coordinating logistical support for commodity shipments by rail, truck or barge.

Key Responsibilities

• Assists with intermediate accounting functions and execution of logistics in support of the Merchandisers.


• Provides customer support including resolution of problems and discrepancies, as well as building relationships.


• Review and assist in the collection of accounts receivable as needed. Identify aging accounts and partner with Trader to reconcile in a timely fashion.


• Provide logistical support for commodity shipments by rail, truck or barge.

• Has developed specialized skills or is multi-skilled through job related training or considerable experience


• Completes work with limited degree of supervision


• Likely to act as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience


• Identifies key issues and patterns from partial/conflicting data


• Takes a broad perspective to problems and spots new, less obvious solutions

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required, Associate's Degree preferred


• 3-5 years' relevant experience required
