Job Summary: The ideal candidate has experience creating content for social media campaigns including blogs, videos, visual and written content. They will contribute to managing social media organic campaigns on LinkedIn and Twitter channels - especially with our LATAM channels. The candidate will also play an integral role with our team in helping to manage day to day operations and infrastructure for the social media team and the Equinix Interconnections Blog.

This role will be assisting in social listening to monitor key topics and issues, assist in crisis and M&A communications and provide insights to leadership as required.

The Social Media Specialist will work as part of a global team to contribute in support of the company's business objectives. The role will also be responsible for staying abreast of best practices in social media throughout the tech industry. This person should be a self-starter and able to work independently.

Responsibilities


  • Spanish fluency preferred


  • Proactively plan and lead Equinix social media programs for LATAM.


  • Manage day to day operations and infrastructure for the Equinix Interconnections Blog.


  • Actively engage with the global communications team to ensure that social media programs are aligned with larger company communication goals.


  • Draft posts and frame content in ways that will drive engagement and education.


  • Monitor social media forums where Equinix could be participating and engage with key stakeholders across channels.


  • Develop relevant and engaging content that supports business objectives.


  • Monitor effective benchmarks (best practices) for measuring the impact of social media campaigns.


  • Provide recommendations and plans for revising social media campaigns.


  • Manage sentiment and voice on social channels and work closely with the communications team on media monitoring and on crisis management and reporting.


  • Use tools such as Google Analytics and social insights to audit, analyze monitor and produce monthly social media recaps.


  • Assist with miscellaneous tasks to support the larger integrated communications team.


Qualifications


  • 1+ years of relevant experience, including experience in social media with a B2B technology company


  • Bachelor's degree in PR, Communications, Marketing or equivalent experience in a similar role


  • Understanding of social media trends and best practices.


  • Demonstrated ability for use of the following, but not limited to: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Scheduling Tools, Analytics Platforms


  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and a passion for turning data into actionable insights


  • Basic understanding of SEO and web traffic metrics


  • Ability to work independently, yet as a dependable team member, with the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with a variety of individuals


  • Pro-active self-starter with a "can do" approach to problem solving.


  • Exceptional written and oral communications skills.


  • Outgoing and detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task.


  • Willingness to learn new skills and platforms


  • Experience with social media distribution tools such as Hootsuite or Sprout Social and monitoring platforms is helpful.


  • Additional experience in video or design tools such as Adobe Photoshop or Canva is a plus


  • Experience with WordPress is a plus


  • Ability to speak and write in business Spanish required.
