Workforce Development Specialist - Skilled Craft at Ameren Services Company

The Workforce Development Specialist's-Skilled Craft goal is to attract qualified diverse talent to Ameren, deepen our diverse talent pipelines and create qualified diverse talent pools available for hire with a specific focus on our Skilled Craft roles. This role will work in collaboration across Talent Planning and Recruitment, HR and the business to drive Ameren's Workforce Diversity focus.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage the design and delivery of Ameren's skilled craft diverse pipeline development programs.


  • Use internal and external data and benchmarking to design and execute programs, projects, and/or events that support Ameren's diverse talent pipeline development strategy and objectives.


  • Design and develop in-person and virtual experiences to attract and connect diverse talent to Ameren and create opportunities for employment.


  • Develop tracking and measurement tools to allow for ongoing performance metrics associated with pipeline development and sourcing efforts. Leverage metrics to ensure effective partnerships and return on investment.


  • Build and maintain internal and external partnerships (Ex- trade schools, educational institutions, and community-based organizations) that drive measurable outcomes related to building qualified diverse mid career talent pools.


  • Host and/or support the coordination of in person and virtual events including job fairs, webinars, professional development seminars, and industry recruitment events.


  • Collaborate with the broader HR team and business leadership to create effective workforce development solutions which meet the segments' unique workforce needs and are aligned with workforce projections and staffing plans.


  • Research, identify, and create new and effective strategies to ensure a solid pipeline for future hiring needs.



  • Represent Ameren and our career opportunities to one or more of the following audiences: universities; community colleges; technical colleges; middle/high school educators, students, and parents; military veterans; community based and diversity-focused organizations.


  • Proactively identify candidates to build a qualified talent pool in advance of key positions becoming available.


  • Assess options for new skilled trade pipeline programs and determine enhancements needed to the current skilled trade pipeline programs.


  • Provide accurate and timely, workforce information to the organization to support decision-making and planning.


Qualifications

The Workforce Development Specialist minimum qualifications include:


  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited college or university required.


  • Master's degree in business, human resources, industrial/organizational psychology, communications or other relevant discipline preferred.


  • Three or more years of relevant professional-level experience required, including strong project and program management.


  • Experience in recruiting, workforce planning/development, DE&I and/or HR/OD consulting required.


  • Experience using metrics to monitor performance and inform actions and decisions need preferred.


In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required. Strong presentation, written communication skills and project management skills required. Travel to outside locations for meetings and events with internal and or external customers, stakeholders, and/or partners required. Additional Information

Ameren's selection process includes a series of interviews and may include a leadership assessment process. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates. Salary based on successful candidate's background and position's market value.
