Duties, Responsibilities & Other

    0-2 years experience ingeneral construction industry.
  • Comtrain Certification preferred

  • NWSA Certification preferred

  • Rigging experience preferred

  • The target candidate must be able to operate and maintain a pickup truck, hand tools and specialty equipment upon training

  • A basic understanding and the ability to develop understanding of construction methods, safety protocols, underground utility configurations, communication systems, create legible field sketches, simple mathematics, field measurements, and document daily activities using phones, tablets or computers and perform other duties as assigned.

  • A qualified candidate for this position may demonstrate a basic understanding of fabrication, construction, assembly and mechanical aptitude.

  • Other experience for this position may include working on trenching or directional boring, test pitting excavation, general construction, mechanical construction, utility construction or maintenance. An accumulation of 1-3 years of this type of experience may make for the ideal candidate to grow into a higher technical level after demonstrating solid performance in these areas specific to KCI's project needs.

  • Understanding basic traffic control and the hazards associated with working in and around traffic and following safety precautions is helpful and required on a daily basis. Experience in Wireless Small Cell, OSP or aerial communications construction is a plus.

  • Skills required of this position include the ability to follow instructions, the ability to be trained, mentored and the physical dexterity to operate hand tools and equipment. A positive can-do attitude, a willingness to work with others to accomplish a common goal and the desire to learn are attributes in the ideal candidate. Ability to perform some equipment maintenance tasks a plus. Mechanical aptitude is desired.

  • A valid current driver's license and have the ability to obtain a Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical card for Commercial Motor Vehicle operation is required. Current Commercial Driver's License is a plus.

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, walk for extended periods, and work in all weather conditions and climates, willing to work evenings/weekends when required, travel for overnight and extended stay projects is possible. Pre-employment drug testing is required as a condition of employment. EOE/M/F/Veteran/Disabled.

Qualifications


  • High School diploma or GED.

  • Minimum of 0 - 2 years of experience.

  • Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.

  • Participate in cross - training as requested to build a stronger team

  • Communicate your work flow needs to your team and to your supervisor

  • Accurately records and reports daily forms per project requirements

  • Communicates effectively with client, contractor, staff, and supervisor

  • Proactively resolves problems at the lowest level

  • Adheres to project scope, schedule, and budget

  • Reviews all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting

  • Submits accurate time sheets, mileage and expense reports on time each week

  • Reviews jobsite safety daily and takes immediate action to document and resolve issues

  • Understands OSHA Safety Standards and KCI corporate policies and follows them at all times

  • Accurately record and report your work each day on the forms provided

  • Inspect and correct your own work before turning it in

  • Perform all task assignments using required industry standards

  • Review all work assigned to you before beginning your work

  • Understand all applicable industry standards for your assigned tasks

  • Work with your team to maximize your production and accuracy to help us achieve our goal

  • Has the specific knowledge to perform all duties

  • Maintains all required certifications and participates in training courses as required

  • Understands all applicable industry standards for project and performs all tasks per standards and client requirements

  • Comply with all KCI policies and procedures

  • Performs other duties as assigned
