We are currently looking for a Global Manager, Strategic Category Sourcing -Packaging in our Orangeburg, NY location.
POSITION PURPOSE:
Develop and lead the execution of Nice-Pak/PDI's Packaging strategy in alignment with the overall manufacturing and corporate strategy. Focus on Flexible and Rigid materials. The position will support the JFE (Nice-Pak/PDI/NPI) business strategy while meeting or exceeding the Procurement organizational performance goals related to Total Cost of Ownership including: total cost of ownership, cost savings, supply business continuity/risk, net working capital, business support/customer service, and partnered innovation/business growth.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
Source supply partners and ensure continuity of supply at the lowest total cost of ownership for the JFE group of business units across packaging products - films, labels, injection, and blow-molded materials. Develop and lead the implementation of Nice-Pak/PDI sourcing and risk mitigation strategies, as well as supplier performance management, continuous improvement, and innovation.
Develop and deploy the sourcing and supplier strategy in the S2C cycle for relevant categories of spend in packaging.
Champion the global procurement organization for relevant packaging portfolios and leverage the JFE organization including NPI for developing sourcing strategies.
Capture Maximum Procured Value for Nice-Pak/PDI by performing market assessments, sourcing, scenario analysis, and price and contract negotiations associated with the various initiatives Included are RFx, risk mitigation, managing current and future spending, etc.
Develop and execute the category plan with sourcing and risk mitigation strategies, including emergency and contingency plans for Packaging material groups including EPA, OTC drug, cosmetic, and consumer-related to flexible and rigid materials.
Manage Packaging spend & associated stakeholder relationships for Nice-Pak/PDI.
Develop process efficiencies to engage, assess and qualify Packaging suppliers for Nice-Pak/PDI. Maintain and utilize supplier segmentation model for supplier rationalization and supplier management.
Manage requests for information, quotations, proposals, and bidding processes.
Drive Governance for strategic supplier relationships, including development and performance improvement in partnership with the Supplier Quality Team
Continuously monitor relevant commodity market conditions, trends, and activities
Manage contract compliance for Packaging Suppliers.
Provide procurement support to all basic business activities:
Act as the subject matter expert in Packaging sourcing to support Nice Pak/PDI in the implementation of high value, high complexity external supply initiatives
Act as the internal influencer and internal/external facilitator on Packaging related initiatives
Source new products and new Packaging Suppliers in support of the business strategy
Drive supplier continuous improvement and supplier enabled innovation
Accountable for Procurement support for new product / Packaging developments & launches
Conduct 'make versus buy' and 'scenario' analyses to support optimal and timely business decisions
Work cross-functionally to deliver Procurement cost savings and risk mitigation projects
Lead Packaging/item transitions
Continuously manage procurement elements of ERP system (experience with MS365 preferred)
Supplier Development and Relationship Management:
Directly interface with current and potential suppliers to maximize 'Total Procured Value' from third party manufacturer supplier base
Ensure proper Packaging supplier communication, including forecasts
Source new vendors in support of business strategy and support supplier qualifications
Build and maintain Packaging Supplier strategic relationships
Manage departures to mitigate risk
Identify opportunities and implement actions to achieve efficiencies and mitigate risk
Periodic reporting and tracking of Procurement metrics:
Manage and provide PPV analysis
Quarterly procurement reports
Create, manage and report on the Packaging dashboard

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
4+ years procurement experience, including strategic sourcing and cross-functional project management
Packaging Procurement, Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) or Pharmaceutical, and EPA/FDA experience strongly preferred
