Job Description:

Our Business or Function:  Legacy Business Solutions (LBS) proactively manages Prudential’s discontinued businesses driving value-added outcomes for our policyholders, distribution partners, regulators, and shareholders.  LBS provides operational support for Long-Term Care (LTC) and other discontinued products such as Individual Health and Disability.  This includes continual de-risking efforts including the optimization of our operating models, responsible analysis of the need for rate increases and the future cost of claims, calibrated oversight of claims management and the inclusion of strategic sourcing partners.

Our Role:   We are looking for an astute, determined professional like you, to fulfill the Rate Increase Implementation Manager position, within our LTC Operations team.   This professional will be responsible for optimizing the value of approved rate increases for the Company’s LTC line of business. To be successful, they will need to ensure strategic implementation of approved rate increases by working closing with internal resources within LTC Operations, Actuarial, and Legal, as well as our external Third-Party Administrators. They must effectively provide transparency while leading projects to completion and aggregate data, risks and results required by leadership to make optimal prioritization decisions. 

Your Impact:


  • Manage monthly implementation of premium rate increases including:

    • Process - Identify and document the complete list of end-to-end tasks required by each workstream.

    • Scheduling - Prioritize and schedule approved increases considering state requirements, future value of the increase, downstream capacity implications and specific client/customer impacts.

    • Manage Third-Party Administrator (TPA) - Ensure accuracy and timeliness of implementation in accordance with Prudential’s requirements, including system configuration, QA testing, letter and rider production and compliance with overall monitors and controls.

    • Testing - Evaluate effectiveness of TPA QA test plans and develop/perform standardized QR testing to mitigate risks.

    • Reporting - Provide transparency to impacted business partners through clear and timely updates for emerging issues and identified risks.



  • Executive and refine premium rate increase operating model.

  • Analyze the resources needed for various projects/initiatives, providing effective challenge to estimates when appropriate.  Lead collaboration with multiple parties to ensure project milestones are achieved on time, and if applicable, on budget

  • Support the development of associated business cases and other materials/presentations to be used by senior leadership for oversight and decision making.

  • Recognize, and drive correction of, existing and/or potential data issues resulting from, or exacerbated by, the introduction of rate increases on policy data within the administrative system.

  • Measure the overall effectiveness of the premium rate increase program through the analysis of metrics via the LTC Executive Dashboard.

  • Present and discuss results with Senior Management at regular intervals.

  • Dedicate efforts toward tangible, continual process improvement to strengthen the team operating model and governance structure.

Your Required Skills: -


  • Significant experience with:

    • Implementing LTC premium rate increases

    • Long-Term Care Insurance products

    • Inspro administration system specifically related to application of rate increases

    • Development and execution of QA/UA testing plans



  • Strong track record of driving results on multiple simultaneous projects

  • Ability to think strategically and assist in prioritization of tasks

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment while remaining positive and pragmatic

  • Ability to keep numerous stakeholders engaged and productive

  • Willingness and confidence to escalate issues quickly, when appropriate, to optimize results

  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to write clearly and concisely

  • Strong organizational skills

*Note: Prudential is required by Colorado law to include the salary range for this role when hiring a Colorado resident.

Salary range specific to Colorado: $98,000-$139,200 + discretionary incentive bonus + benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
