We currently have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Procurement Manager for indirect categories.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the development and execution of procurement category strategies, strategic sourcing initiatives, and supplier relationship management for assigned indirect spend categories with the ultimate goal of reducing operating expense while improving services provided across all business units. The categories may include, but are not limited to Professional Services, Clinical/Non-Clinical Staffing & Contingent Labor, Marketing, Print, and Facilities.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Responsible for negotiating, coordinating, and assuring that assigned indirect spend categories and services are purchased at the lowest possible cost
  • Use current and future spend data to identify sourcing projects and develop overall cost reduction plans for individual categories

  • Research and analyze industry information and market trends pertaining to assigned indirect spend categories

  • Develop and utilize business and financial modeling to support decision making

  • Plan and execute effective negotiation processes with vendors that meets both cost and performance goals

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop supplier selection criteria and contract SLA's

  • Facilitate implementation of procurement change initiatives within assigned spend categories to improve business performance

  • Lead supplier relationship management efforts including supplier rationalization and qualification efforts

  • Manage and improve supplier performance thru periodic business reviews and KPI (key performance indicator) tracking

  • Address supplier performance issues to ensure the highest level of service delivery

  • Perform various cost and/or usage analyses, benchmarking and contract compliance to determine savings potential and present findings and recommendations to business and functional leads

  • Maintain current vendor directory and databases including contract management

  • Maintain current GPO contract portfolio and notify internal customers when contracts are modified

  • Monitor corporate purchasing contracts for product additions/deletions and notify internal customers of changes that would require additional follow-up

  • Review proposed contracts/agreements for accuracy and compliance to GPO or corporate agreement Terms and Conditions

  • Perform 'in-house versus outsourcing' analysis for negotiation and sourcing strategy within various categories

  • Partner with ERP system lead for vendor set-up and maintenance

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and strategic suppliers

  • Assist with corporate and local/regional contract review and renewals when needed

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Regular and reliable attendance is required

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.


  • Bachelor's degree required

  • A minimum of five (5) years' experience in Procurement Strategic Sourcing

  • Experience in the healthcare industry is preferred.

  • Experience leading end-to-end Strategic Sourcing initiatives

  • Experience with contract negotiations

  • Experience with data gathering and analysis

  • Experience reviewing contract Terms and Conditions

  • Experience with Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO)

Other Qualifications:

Strong customer relations skills. Experienced leader and manager in a team oriented environment with strong relationship management skills. Ability to manage multi-site organization. Must be able to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks effectively and efficiently while maintaining a professional, courteous manner. Must be able to work well with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Must be detail oriented and organized. High integrity, including maintenance of confidential information. Must be able to exercise good judgment and positively influence and lead others, including handling confrontations with poise and efficiency. Based on business need, the ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends as approved in advance.
