Overview

The Corporate Development Officer, reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, will be responsible for developing and coordinating the Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) strategies to support CAES' People Focused, Mission Driven corporate vision. In this role, you will work extensively with senior leaders of CAES and the board of directors to develop an inorganic growth strategy as well as the strategic rationale for M&A transactions. You will be responsible to lead all business diligence and transaction-related activities.


Responsibilities


  • Lead M&A origination by identifying and monitoring potential M&A candidates in coordination with Division strategy leadership.

  • Perform rigorous market analysis on prospective acquisition candidates to inform strategic rationale, valuation, and approach strategy

  • Accurately assess value and risk to drive an optimal, successful strategy

  • Focus on high impact opportunities to concentrate on opportunities with the highest potential

  • Conduct primary research to develop a perspective on new markets and emerging technologies

  • Lead a fast-paced and thorough due diligence process

  • Present recommendations and opportunities in a data-driven manner to senior leadership

  • Exercises independent thinking with an emphasis on analytics and strategy to support opportunity identification and evaluation, negotiations, and decision making


Qualifications

Minimum:


  • Bachelor's Degree

  • A minimum of 5 years of private equity, banking, and/or corporate development experience

  • A minimum of 5 years prior experience in large, complex organizations, successfully architecting and communicating strategic corporate development plans

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance

Preferred:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or a Technical field and/or a Master's Degree

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, communicate, motivate and persuade; leading multi-functional teams in problem solving

  • Goal oriented with the ability to balance tasks and team/individual needs to achieve the right outcomes

  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills

  • Ability to work effectively with external personnel while demonstrating a high degree of tact, objectivity, and diplomacy

  • Strong leadership skills with experience presenting to and interacting with senior and executive leadership teams

  • DoD industry experience

  • Highly organized and efficient program management abilities
