The Bulk Operator will be responsible for safely operating and inspecting areas of the flour mill. To succeed, you must be able to:

Your responsibilities:
Take direction from the miller on duties for the day.
Take scale readings and record on the mill production and process monitor.
Maintain the wheat cleaning machinery and set it at optimum running conditions.
Work safely on all jobs and follow all procedures.
Perform center line check list.
Have the ability to understand the flow of the mill.
Assist in all flour changes as shown on the production sheet.
Communicate to the next shift of any upcoming flour changes and discuss how the plant is running.
Perform any maintenance to the mill as needed to keep the mill operating.
Call in maintenance as needed when break downs occur.
Follow instruction from the miller if an emergency arises and an evacuation is needed.
Follow all plant rules.
Attend all training as directed by company personnel.
Fill out work orders on items that need repaired.
Assist in audits (FPA, Safety BOS, 5S).
Clean up in areas as directed by the head miller.
Any other duties as assigned by manager.
Essential skills and experience:
Must possess GED or High School Diploma.
Communication skills in English (both verbal and written).
Proficient in computer tools including email and spreadsheets.
Must be willing to accept accountability and work well in a team.
Good to have:
At least one year of manufacturing or plant operations experience.
Experience as a team lead.
Experience driving a forklift or shuttle wagon.
Physical requirements and working conditions (with or without reasonable accommodation):
Able tolift upto 50 pounds and exert 20 pounds of force.
Able to work in a production environment and wear respiratory protection.
Able to work in hot and cold conditions.
Ascend and Descend stairs throughout the facility.
Climb step and extension ladders as well as on top of rail cars (if necessary).
Wear the required PPE.
Other considerations:
Must be willing to accept accountability and work well in a team.
Must be willing and able 1st (7:00am-to 3:00pm), 2nd (3:00pm-11:00pm) and 3rd (11:00 pm to 7:00 am) as well as weekends, Holidays, 7-day weeks, and opposing shifts when needed.
Must be willing to get cross-trained in at least one other position for development within the facility and to provide any relief duties as needed.
