The position requires coverage on the weekends, holidays (major and minor) and night coverage as scheduled. The Social Worker, MSW New Grad (Per Diem) is responsible for providing interventions to remove psychosocial barriers preventing safe and timely transition through the continuum of care. The social worker has the responsibility to obtain, plan, and communicate with the team, peers and supervisor utilizing all methods of communication and adhering to policies and procedures. The Social Worker New Grad (Per Diem) provides social work services to patients and families in all hospital areas specific to assignment. They advocate in empowering patients to maintain a level of control over their treatment and ensure self determination. In addition, the Social Worker focuses on ensuring quality care while actively engaging in cost effectiveness measures such as Performance Improvement Projects, LEAN activities and other house-wide initiatives.Minimum Qualifications:

1 year or less of direct social work experience in an acute healthcare setting preferred post MSW graduation.

Master's of Social Work (MSW) Degree from an accredited School of Social Work required. California Children's Services paneling required within 90 days of employment.
