NTS is seeking a Mechanical Tech to work in the capacity of Test Technician to set-up and perform vibration and shock tests. We strive to maintain excellent customer service and a quick turnaround of our customer testing needs. We will consider someone with a strong mechanical aptitude/background (mechanic, trades, HVAC/refrigeration, welding, machining, field service repair, electrician, construction, etc). Either way, you must be hands-on and able to use hand and power tools.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Set-up and performance of Vibration & Shock tests


• Data collection utilizing vibration control systems, accelerometers, force sensors, thermocouples, strain gages, etc.


• Analysis and verification of test setups, test levels and requirements


• Cleanup and maintenance


• Troubleshooting and buildup of test fixtures, configurations and electrical set ups


• Data documentation, and report preparation

Required Education/Skills/Experience:

• Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship (present or future) and able to pass a drug test and DMV and background check


• High School Diploma or equivalent


• We would prefer environmental or mechanical or electrical testing experience OR we will consider someone with a strong mechanical aptitude/background (mechanic, trades, HVAC/refrigeration, welding, machining, field service repair, electrician, construction, etc). Either way, you must be hands-on and able to use manual and power tools.


• Knowledge of fluids mechanics/hydraulics/pneumatics a plus

* Demonstrate problem solving ability and strong communication skills (oral and written)

• Demonstrate strong organizational skills, such as inventory control and order tracking processes


• Ability to foster a cooperative work environment


• Willing to work extended hours, including nights and weekends as necessary to support department testing objectives


• Strong Customer Service mindset and associated skills


• Proficient in most standard MS Office programs and general computer skills

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Test lab with exposure to sudden, loud noises

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
