Job Description

This position will manage the life cycle of a variety of contracts and provide support on various administrative matters as needed.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Draft, negotiate, and manage a wide range of contracts containing both standardized and unique elements and risks (which may include confidentiality agreements, consulting and service agreements, and various vendor services agreements).
• Provide daily legal support to various internal clients regarding contractual obligations and effectively address legal and business questions.
• Define risks and be able to communicate those risks to appropriate internal decision-makers for discussion and resolution.
• Maintain and track status for contracts and perform administrative tasks specific to contract management, such as creating files, updating files with ongoing correspondence, managing the contract execution process, and scanning and entering executed contracts into internal contract database.
• Handle miscellaneous legal tasks on an as needed basis under direction of senior attorneys.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• None

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
Education:
• BS/BA degree in related discipline and seven years of related experience.
• JD preferred and two years of related experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:
• Two to three years of in-house experience at a biotechnology, pharmaceutical or high-tech company, with a focus on contract drafting and negotiation and preference for IT contracting experience.
