MRI Technologist (FT), Radiology-MRI - Evenings at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center

Job Description:

D-H MRI Technologists work in an environment that challenges them with a fast pace and wide variety of advanced imaging exams including Breast Imaging, Cardiac Imaging, Functional Brain Imaging, Multi-Parametric Prostate Imaging and many different MRA studies.  The D-H MRI department is a close group of energetic technologists that enjoy working together to provide a safe and comfortable environment for our patients to receive exceptional quality imaging.

 

We invite applications from both new Radiology Technician graduates to whom we will provide training within the modality and seasoned MRI Technologists.

 

Performs magnetic resonance imaging procedures.  Maintains equipment and supplies.

 

This is a full-time, 40-hour per week, evening shift position working from 2:30pm-11:00pm.  Dartmouth-Hitchcock offers a 10% shift differential for the evening shift position.

 

Responsibilities: A listing of the key responsibilities:

 


  1. Reviews medical record for patient history and pertinent information.  Reviews requisition with physician.  Administers contrast material by means of existing IV line or by performing veno puncture and placing an IV line.  Recognizes and responds to hypersensitivity or allergic reaction.  Evaluates images and send to PACS.

  2. Scans reviews data on disk.  Performs multi-plane reconstructions.  Performs archine function.  Selects and photographs pertinent data and forwards to physician.

  3. Reviews studies for overall quality.  Illuminates any problems notes which were not part of the initial exam.

  4. Performs calibration check on equipment.  Cleans and performs minor maintenance procedures.  Logs problems and usage.  Maintains wall units and ambu cord.  Orders and maintains supplies.

  5. Instructs medical staff and technologists in unit’s operations.

  6. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

 









Minimum Qualifications:


  • Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology with 1 year of experience required.

Required Licensure/Certification Skills:


  • Registered with ARRT

  • Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support

  • Licensed by the Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy in the state of New Hampshire.
