Job Description:

OU Office of Admissions & Recruitment (OAR) works to bring in the next generation of Sooners. Our team operates from Norman as well as across the state, nation and world. We provide support to incoming domestic and international freshman and transfer students as they navigate the college application and decision process. Additionally, we partner with parents, counselors, and communities in providing resources to students interested in higher education. Our goal is to build a vibrant, inclusive community on campus by recruiting students with diverse backgrounds, educational experiences, and involvement.

We're currently looking for a new team member in our Tulsa office to serve as an Admissions Counselor.

Responsibilities include:

﾿Cultivate and build relationships with prospective students, families, high school counselors, and other key stakeholders in NE Oklahoma and Arkansas.

﾿Communicate routinely through email, calls, in-person visits, and events with prospective students, families, high school counselors, and other key stakeholders across campus and the state of Oklahoma and Arkansas.

﾿Plan and execute events in designated territory to increase applications and yield.

﾿Create strategy, alongside the Associate Director of Oklahoma Recruitment & Campus Experience, to ensure we are meeting the needs of the diverse population of prospective students OAR actively recruits.

﾿Fully utilize and attain the proper training for the use of our CRM to communicate and proactively outreach to prospective students, families, and high school counselors. Additionally, with use of the CRM, build reports and queries to track the progress and ROI in designated territory.

﾿Review admission applications and make admission decisions for prospective students.

﾿Routinely present to prospective students, families, counselors, faculty and staff to share the OAR brand. 

﾿Sit on various in-office committees dedicated to strategy and recruitment of various populations to ensure the needs of students are being met in the recruitment cycle.

 

Required Education: Bachelor Degree or equivalent combination of education/job related experience, AND: 


  • 0-24 months recruitment experience


Skills:


  • Highly organized and has a keen sense of details when it comes to projects and deadlines

  • Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff

  • Strong initiative to solve problems quickly

  • Keen sense of customer service and serving others

Certifications:



  • Valid driver's license to travel to presentations


Advertised Physical Requirements:


  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time doing work on a computer and via the telephone. Must be able to,engage in repetitive motions, communicate, including expressing oneself or exchanging information with others; see,including color, depth perception and clarity; and hear, including receiving detailed information orally.

Department Preferences:


  • Experience in higher education

  • Knowledge of OU

Supervision: No Supervisory Duties
