Production Superintendent Position needed for a full-time, staff opportunity with American Ordnance located in Middletown, IA

The Work You'll Be Doing:


  • Facilitates collaborative cross-functional team awareness for safety of operators and casuals in production buildings. Pro-actively works with peers and sub-ordinates to include maintenance and quality to ensure quality and production goals are met.

  • Manage and supervise 3-5 salaried supervisors in the implementation and successful completion of all production activities on an operating line of plant. Directs the consistent application and enforcement of Company policy for Plant Rules and Regulations as they pertain to all employees in his/her designated work area.

  • Assists in preparation of estimates for labor, tooling and facilities required for manufacture of production items. Assist in the preparation of required reports and assures that appropriate records are maintained.

  • Assures that he/she comprehends the necessity to continuously improve processes and systems under their control and to meet customer needs, both internal and external.

  • Consults with superiors and subordinates to plan and develop production policies, procedures, specifications, costs and time estimates for manufacturing required items; manages the hours per unit HPU cost elements of contract.

  • Assures subordinates are trained not only on item SOP's but in other mandatory training areas in accordance with predetermined schedules.

What You Need to Bring to the Table:


  • Bachelors degree required; prefer business or engineering.

  • Ten years exempt level experience managing production processes in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to secure and maintain a Government SecretClearance

  • Valid driver's license is required

  • Lean manufacturing skills and experience

  • Great attitude and team player.

  • Successful completion of background screening process.

  • People Management - Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to develop talent, establish goals and hold employees accountable.
