The University of Miami Health System has an exciting opportunity for a Critical Care Technician. The Critical Care Tech (CCT) is a certified professional that fulfills the need of patient care in the hospital. Through collaborative efforts with members of the interdisciplinary team, the CCT performs various duties under the direction of the nurse, charge nurse and/or unit director or designee. The CCT performs various duties and observes the patients' conditions and reports to the nurse. The CCT conducts drug utilization review studies, and consults with medical practitioners on prescription orders, patient reactions, and errors. Additionally, this employee works closely with patients and healthcare providers to provide information and guidance about the effects of prescription drugs and help plan effective drug therapy programs.



ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS



The minimum requirements are as follows: High school diploma or GED equivalent is required. Current and Valid State of Florida C.N.A., EMT or Paramedic Certification is required. BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications required. Should have 1 year of patient care experience. Any combination of experience, education and/or certifications will be considered.
