Position :   Environmental Project Manager – Facilities Group


 


Position Description:  This is a highly independent position requiring a mature, self-motivated individual capable of completing multi-faceted assignments with minimal oversight.  Position reports directly to the Chief Environmental Officer. Person is responsible for overall quality of all assigned deliverables.  Effective communication skills are required in the regular conduct of project activities with vendors, contractors, regulators, and external/internal business associates.


In addition to the Environmental tasks related to residual waste management, it is also expected that this position will assist in business development opportunities for the company. 


 


Essential duties include:


 



  • Complete assignments from the General Manager – Facilities, in a timely, professional manor.  Such tasks may involve.

  • Create and/or review O&M plans, storm water management plans, oil spill prevention plans, etc. for our Facilities.

  • Evaluate waste management technologies for the Denali Technology Group.

  • Lead the Facility groups contract, environmental and regulatory compliance for all group facilities.

  • Ensure compliance with all permits, including overseeing renewals in a timely manner.

  • Set up and employ systems for tracking environmental compliance, including managing a central online database for regulatory documents.

  • Ensure all site staff are trained as required by permits and regulations.

  • Periodically visit sites to ensure compliance.

  • Be the primary point of contact for all communications with regulators for group facilities.

  • Provide support for our Sales and Marketing activities, specifically, for biosolids management technologies are to be implemented.

  • As directed, conduct in-person, internet, social media, and phone-based activities in support of company objectives.  These activities may involve contacting regulators and Environmental Consultants.

  • Educate staff on operational principals, and regulatory issues.  Provide on-site and on-line training.

  • It is expected that the candidate will continuously engage in self-directed education to justify client (external & internal) specialist expectations.  Particular attention directed towards the fields of biosolids management, composting, organic waste management, and production agriculture (areas where the company operates).

  • Will assist as needed in daily operation of Company facilities in locations across the United States.  Tasks may include:

  • Care, monitoring, and operation of assorted technologies for the composting of organic materials (biosolids, food wastes, yard wastes, etc.…).

  • Careful record keeping of operating conditions (odor management, tonnage, etc.…) and target parameters.

  • General site maintenance activities (storm water, wastewater, equipment, and grounds).

  • Represent Denali in a professional and ethical manner with the public at trade shows, and other venues.

  • Assist with the preparation of grant applications, public presentations, and professional papers. 

Education and skills:



  • High School diploma or GED required.

  • Bachelor's degree in agricultural science or related environmental degree preferred.

  • Knowledge of concepts, practices, procedures, methods, and techniques used in agricultural and/or farming operations.

  • Knowledge of biosolids and other residuals management, processing, and operations.

  • Knowledge of regulations related to biosolids and non-hazardous residuals industry.

  • Outgoing, self-starter who can create value while working independently.

  • Public speaking.

  • Proven success communicating with farmers, customers, sales team, and corporate management.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Excel, and Outlook.

  • The Company highly values continuing education and will provide training opportunities (conferences, workshops, etc.…) each year for professional development.

 


Requirements:



  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug scree.

  • Must be able to pass pre-employment background check.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

  • Must have a clean MVR.

Travel:



  • Yes, we have composting operation in twenty locations.

 Pay:



  • Salary: $75,000 - $100,000
