Overview

This position is responsible for receiving, stores and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, replacement parts, shop supplies and equipment, such as measuring devices, in an industrial establishment. Keeps records of tools issued to and returned by workers. Searches for lost or misplaced tools. Prepares periodic inventory or keeps perpetual inventory and requisitions stock as needed. Unpacks and stores new equipment. Visually inspects tools or measures with micrometer for wear or defects and reports damaged or worn-out equipment to superiors. May coat tools with grease or other preservative, using brush or spray gun. May attach identification tags or engrave identifying information on tools and equipment, using electric marking tool.

Requirements

• Must have 1 year of related experience specific to job description.


• Meet eligibility requirements for work assignment on the specific contract.


• Must be able to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.


• Must have a current valid drivers license, good driving record and be insurable under the center's policy.


• Safely perform essential functions described below.

Physical Requirements

• May travel to and from various locations and building throughout the year and in various weather conditions.


• Schedules are subject to change. May require working early morning, mid-morning, afternoon and/or evening hours; as well as weekends and Holidays.


• While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to bend, crouch, walk, climb stairs and ladders, reach above head, sit (to drive) and lift up to 40 pounds. Will occasionally be required to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
