What we do:

The New York Fed is looking for a Sr. Instructional Designer who will help us enhance and exemplify our commitment to being a "people-first" organization where employees are heard, respected, and valued. This inaugural position will provide a unique opportunity to work the entire learning solution project life-cycle including conducting skills gap and needs assessments, aligning learning and development programs, designing and developing training curriculum and materials in different delivery modes (e.g., instructor-led, in-person or virtual training, self-paced training, eLearning, videos, infographics, supporting guides, etc.) as well as measuring impact and effectiveness of deployed learning solutions.

You will report to the Chief Learning Officer and design and promote the Bank's learning and development curriculum across the organization. You will help define the Bank's learning standards and promote a learning culture that enables our employees to grow and develop professionally.

Your role as a Sr. Instructional Designer:


  • Conduct skills/ needs assessments across the organization to identify knowledge gaps
  • Create new learning paths, curriculums and coursework while applying recognized instructional design principles and best practices applying adult learning principles that drive performance improvement
  • Develop learning content that aligns to the Bank's strategic priorities that focus on knowledge, skills and competency development
  • Work with experts to conceptualize, storyboard and implement learning components and materials to deliver a learning experience for the target audience
  • Establish key performance indicators to measure learning outcomes
What we are looking for:

  • Bachelors or equivalent experience with a focus in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field of adult learning principles is strongly preferred
  • 8+ years experience designing and implementing learning & development programs preferred (work samples required)
  • Proficiency in instructional design methods (ADDIE, HPI), eLearning applications and Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Strong graphic design skills and a passion for creating high-level content
  • Experience developing measurement tools and strategies that focus on reaction to learning, knowledge transfer, application on the job, and impact
